Having lived in Yorkshire a few years ago I still can’t believe that they grow Pinot Noir there… though it’s definitely cold enough. Definitely looking forward to try one day this pinot noir from Yorkshire Heart.
Pinot noir’s best friend
Époisses from Berthaut, great with pinot noir from Bourgogne… or anywhere else.
Pinot noir World day, 18th August. Be ready!
Clos Vougeot 2007
Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2007, shared with a friend à la table de Léonce, the summer restaurant in Château du Clos Vougeot. Amazing drink #closvougeot #closvougeotgrandcru #bourgogne #ilovepinotnoir
Mastei Vernacoli Pinot Nero
Probably my first Pinot Noir from Italy. Called Pinot Nero it is mostly grown in Northern Italy needing the cool evenings from the altitude.
Light and easy. Will have to try more of those
Figaro article on Clos Vougeot
Great article (in French only) about Pinot Noir from Clos Vougeot in Burgundy, one of the kings of Pinot Noir. Thomas Jefferson went there to visit it in 1787

Clos Vougeot cloud picture
Spending time in France was a great opportunity to go to Pinot Noir Mecca, the Clos Vougeot Castle, home to the “Confrérie du Tastevin” wine brotherhood. Since I am a member, I have been there many times but going there is always great. Weather and clouds were perfect for a beautiful picture of this magical place.
This time, I was having lunch at the castle, at “La table de Léonce”, the summer only lunch and wine offer at the Castle. This will be covered in a specific post.
Great Falstaff article on Pinot Noir
Pinot Noir is one of the most important grape variety and very addictive. Falstaff.com gives a great overview of various growing region, starting with my home region of Burgundy.

La Paulée
Pinot noir should always be enjoyed in good company. Mixing white and red from Burgundy, Chardonnay and mostly Pinot noir. This pictures is a display of many of the top names of Burgundy wines, 1er Cru and Grand Cru.
La Paulée is a kind of Burgundy party, taking its name from the original Paulée de Meursault. Each guest must bring at least one bottle of his favorite Burgundy and share with friends. This makes great memories and great parties.
